Mexico '10

This year for my spring break, my parents took me to Cancun, Mexico! We brought my best friend Lindsay along, and it was SO much fun.

Being away at college has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, however there are a few things I miss because of it. I miss sitting on my mom's bed talking just to hear her tell me everything will be okay. I miss her back scratches when I'm laying in bed at night. I miss being with my dad. I miss the nights we would sit- not asking or answering questions (or even carrying on a conversation for that matter) but just sit and watch tv together (even when we watched the weirdest shows....). I miss laughing with them both.

So that is why I love vacationing with them. Not only is it their favorite, but it's mine. (Not just because of the pina coladas, the lazy days at the beach, or even the educational days at the ruins- but those were a plus!) But because I love watching them get so excited to take me to something I've never seen, or never done before. I love taking off on the plane, with butterflies in my stomach, just to look over and see my mom feeling the same way. I love eating something I really don't like just to look over and see the look on my dad's face when he doesn't like it either. I love the way they plan the trip just for me. Because they want me to have fun. Because they love me.

And because of that reason alone, I would have had fun no matter where we went, or what we did. (Give or take backpacking some mountain in who-knows-what-country-we're-in-because-its-not-even-on-the-map or eating who knows what food because there's-nothing-else-to-eat-so-you-just-eat-it. I guess I didn't get all of my dad's genes...)

Because they love me. And I love them. And that really is all that matters.

So, after a month of delay- here are some highlights of our trip together!
